The Technical University of Denmark is a leading university with a strong focus on research and innovation. The Department of Photonics Engineering, DTU Fotonik, employs more than 220 researchers and is a world-leading institution in optical communications, networks and photonic integration, cf. recent international evaluation.
Spearheaded by Assoc. Prof. Søren Stobbe, DTU Fotonik will be responsible for developing the novel, patented chip-based spectrometer technology.
"We will quite simply make spectrometers in a radically different way that will make them both inexpensive and sustainable. (...) The area of application for spectrometers—if you can make them in this low price range—is gigantic," says Søren Stobbe.
